2014 Festival Summary

  • 55 Chainsaw Carvers were at the festival this year.
  • They produced 161 Carvings for the Auction.
  • 155 people registered for the Auction
  • The Auction total was $38,730.00, $6,180 more than last year.  Half $19,365.00 went to the carvers.  The average price per carving was about $240, $32 less than last year.
  • The Confluence Lions Club will donate more than the net proceeds from the Festival, $6,000.00, to the Somerset County VisionCorps.  The Confluence Lions Club will have donated over $111,800 to the Somerset County VisionCorps from the past 11 Festivals.
  • Pat Holbert won First Place with top Auction Piece of $2,650.  Pat won $500, a Husqvarna Chainsaw and our First Place Auction Trophy.
  • Kenny Bowers was second with $2,500.  Kenny won $300 and our Second Place Auction Trophy.
  • Rick Cox was third with $1,500 Rick won $200 and our Third Place Auction Trophy.
  • Kenny Bowers won for the “Peoples Choice” voting.  Kenny won a Husqvarna Chainsaw and our First Place Peoples Choice Trophy.
  • Vivian Sierzega-Rouse won First Place for her Lighthouse Sponsor Carving judged by the clients from the Somerset County Blind Center.  Vivian won a Husqvarna Chainsaw and our First Place Sponsor Carving Trophy.
  • Clair Talbot’s Indian Wolf was second and received our Second Place Sponsor Carving Trophy.
  • Elmer Hickey’s Cockatiel was third and received our Third Place Sponsor Carving Trophy.
  • Every carver that attended the Banquet on Thursday night received a door prize.  There were two Husqvarna Chainsaw available, shirts, hats and oil along with other items.
  • Joseph Stebbing was chosen to do the Addison Park Carving for 2014.  Joe will be doing a two bear carving with an entrance sigh for the Park.  It will be on permanent display in the entrance to the Park along with the ten previous carvings, one for each year.
  • The 55 carver split a total of $32,000 from the Auction, prize money, sponsorships, Husqvarna chain saws, gifts and food.  This does not include individual sales.
