2016 festival summary

  • 40 Chainsaw Carvers were at the festival in 2016
  • They donated 118 Carvings for the Auction.
  • 150 people registered for the Auction
  • The Auction total was $38,110.00, $8,480 more than last year.  Half $18,730.00 minus five carving auctioned by the club went to the carvers.  The average price per carving was about $323, $80 more than last year.
  • The Confluence Lions Club will donate the net proceeds from the Festival, to the Somerset County Blind Association.  The Confluence Lions Club has donated over $115,800 to the Somerset County Blind Association from the past 12 Festivals.
  • Ben Rannels won First Place with top Auction Piece of $1,800.  Ben won $700 and our First Place Auction Trophy.
  • Todd Gladfelter was second with $1,600.  Todd won $300 and our Second Place Auction Trophy.
  • Andrew Mallon was third with $1,600.  Andrew won $200 and our Third Place Auction Trophy.
  • Todd Gladfelter won for the “Peoples Choice” voting.  Todd won $200.00 and our People’s Choice Trophy.
  • Rick Cox won First Place for his Rocking Buffalo Sponsor Carving judged by the clients from the Somerset County Blind Center.  Rick won a Husqvarna Chainsaw and our First Place Sponsor Carving Trophy.
  • Walt Smith’s Eagle Carving was second and received our Second Place Sponsor Carving Trophy.
  • Vivian Sierzega-Rouse’s Butler Bunny Carving was third and received our Third Place Sponsor Carving Trophy.
  • Every carver that attended the Banquet on Thursday night received a door prize.  There were two Husqvarna Chainsaw available, shirts, hats and oil along with other items.
  • Luke Sassani was chosen to do the Addison Park Carving for 2016.  Luke has a carving with two deer.  Luke will finish it and it will be on permanent display in the Park along with the twelve previous carvings, one for each year.
  • The 40 carver split a total of $28,075 from the Auction, prize money, sponsorships, Husqvarna chain saws, gifts and food.  This does not include individual sales.
